Artic Seals designs, develops and manufactures Hydraulic and Pneumatic Rod Seals for cylinders, actuators and other pressure related systems. A Rod Seal is critical within a single or double acting cylinder or actuator as its function is to maintain pressure within the system and prevent external leakage that could either compromise the system, the environment or both. The choice of rod seal is dependent on application and Artic Seals has a wide range of different sealing types that function under low pressure, high pressure, or a combination of both. Resistant to extrusion, side load, abrasion, temperature extremes, high sliding speeds and low friction.
Rod Seals are designed to work in combination with a wiper to ensure the optimum level of contamination resistance and rod cleanliness is achieved. Artic Rod Seals are available in a wide range of metric and imperial sizes that comply with most international mounting standards including ISO 6020, ISO 5597 and ISO 7425-2. Materials include TPU, TPE, PTFE, NBR and High-Performance Engineered Plastics.
View ROD SEALSArtic Seals designs, develops and manufactures a range of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Piston Seals for cylinders, actuators and other pressure related equipment in both double acting and single acting configurations. The function of a piston seal is to separate and contain pressure acting on one or both sides of a piston and preventing leakage between the full bore and anulus side of the cylinder. The resulting action of retaining this pressure translates in to force and subsequently stroke movement of the piston within the cylinder.
Artic Piston Seals are available in a wide range of styles, materials and dimensions for a diverse range of applications; high and low pressures up to 600 bar, temperatures (-50°C to +230°C), low friction, high speed compact designs and composite materials. Artic Piston Seals are available in a wide range of metric and imperial sizes that comply with most international mounting standards including ISO 6020, ISO 5597 and ISO 7425-2. Materials include TPU, TPE, PTFE, NBR and High-Performance Engineered Plastics.
View PISTON SEALSArtic Seals designs, develops and manufactures a range of Guide Rings and Bearings for Hydraulic and Pneumatic cylinders and actuators with linear and rotary movements. Guiding elements provide the load bearing function between the metallic components of the cylinder during movement. They prevent metallic contact between pistons and cylinders or rods and glands where forces act perpendicular to the direction of movement and can result in damage to either the sealing system and or damage to the hardware.
Artic Seals manufacture a range of Guide Rings and Bearings in either open or closed form in several different high-performance materials including specially filled grades of POM and PA6 to provide higher compressive strength, improved wear resistance and lower levels of friction. Guide Rings can also be supplied in filled grades of PTFE or a combination of polyester resin reinforced fabrics for applications requiring a higher level of compressive strength.
View GUIDE RINGS & BEARINGSArtic Seals designs, develops and manufactures a range of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Wipers for cylinders, actuators with linear and rotary movements. The primary function of a wiper seal is to prevent contaminants such as dust, dirt or moisture from entering the system as the rod retracts back in to the cylinder. Contamination is one of the greatest risks to hydraulic and pneumatic systems as contaminants can compromise the fluid or air resulting in decreased performance and efficiency and at worst case contaminants can cause seal failure, leakage and hardware damage. The wiper also creates a static seal against atmosphere and in some cases can control oil flow and pressure build up within the sealing system.
Artic offers a wide range of Wiper Seals incorporating special and standard features in materials including TPU, TPE, PTFE, NBR, High-Performance Engineered Plastics and Metals.

Static seals provide the sealing function in all areas where no movement of the sealing element occurs between two mating faces. Static seals include O-Rings, Back-Up Rings, Combination Seals in both metric and imperial sizes manufactured in accordance with international standards including AS 568, DIN ISO 3601 and JIS as well as many unique and custom sizes in NBR, FKM, PTFE, Polyester and Polyurethane materials.
